Kristol Calls Boomers the “Not So Great Generation”

Posted November 20th, 2007 by Linda Nazareth

Here’s a nasty piece of boomer bashing - and it’s by a boomer. Writing in the Weekly Standard, William Kristol hurtfully calls the boomers the ‘not so great generation’ and suggests that what they are best at is really self praise.  Ouch.

Now, Kristol is mostly concentrating on boomers’ contribution through war service and patriotism, but you could (if you were so inclined) also add that some of their other contributions - to the economy say - were actually quite negative in all kinds of spheres. They are pretty competitive for what started as a laid back, flower child generation - and they arguably gave us workaholism and the time-crunch economy.

Certainly lots for everyone - boomers, and Xers and Ys - to ponder.
